A lot has happened in the past few months; from September to November we had many events to attend: birthday celebrations, a wedding, and a family Thanksgiving.

Bunionectomy
In September, I had foot surgery, a bunionectomy, a surgical procedure to correct a bunion, a misalignment of the big toe that creates a bony bump at the base of the joint. It involves making an incision, which may be followed by procedures like realigning soft tissues, cutting the bone (osteotomy), or fusing the joint, depending on the severity. The goal is to reduce pain and improve function, though full recovery can take months.
The surgery went well, and I was in a big cast for 2 weeks. After 2 weeks I transferred to a surgical boot, and after 6 weeks I could put on regular sneakers. This experience was the most uncomfortable two weeks with walking using only one leg, but after 3 months I can run and walk without pain. It was definitely worth it.

Sarah's college life
Joining the ice skating team, watching two football games and a few concerts, skiing, and studying were a part of Sarah's life in Boulder. She saw the northern lights for the first time. She made some good friends in the first few months.

Sarah joined an ice skating team and will have her first competition early 2026. Football gameat Boulder.

Birthday and Rosh Hashanah Celebrations
We celebrated 4 birthdays: Andrew's, Dawit's, Kurt's, and Paul's.
Robin visited us in NYC, and we had a get-together/Dawit's birthday dinner with Sam and David. We also had a birthday dinner at our place for Andrew. We went to see Fang Tao sing at Carnegie Hall. In October we went to Lola's for Dawit's birthday; the food was delicious. We went to Cecconi's for Kurt's birthday. We introduced Paul and Grace to Sushi by M.

On Paul's birthday we had lunch together at Paris Bar, and we went to see a concert held by one of Grace and Paul's friends. 2 weeks later, we went to Noksu restaurant in the 32nd Street subway station for a delicious meal, sitting at the bar setting. watching the chefs preparing our food. The food was outstanding, worthy of a Michelin star.
Ashley and James's wedding, 11/22/2025
Ashley, Paul's daughter, got married in Trinity Church on November 22nd. The welcome cocktail party was the night before the wedding at Hide Rooftop.

Best wishes to James and Ashley. They are such a beautiful couple. The wedding party was amazing, and we had a lot of fun.
Thanksgiving 2025
We have been going to Robin's house in Boca Raton for Thanksgiving since her family moved there. The weather this year was warm and comfortable. David tried a new recipe for turkey, and it was the best so far. Robert brought Hans with him. I made apple tarts and cheesecake for dessert. It was such a wonderful family get-together.

After Thanksgiving, Sarah saw a few of her friends and we had a post-Thanksgiving dinner at our place with Alex, Senina, Victoria, Dawit and Kurt
I got a new hair color. I learned how to make kimbap from Susan Chin. She gave me the recipe and a link on how to make kimbap here. It was much easier than I thought, and they came out amazing.
Fall foliage and the food we made and had this Fall
Andrew and Chris came to visit us before their trip to Europe. We made a lot of fall-forward food. It has been a beautiful fall, with a lot to be thankful for. We are so blessed to be able to be a part of many memorable moments with our friends and family.
