We left New York and flew to Denver on August 15th with 4 large suitcases and 3 carry-ons.
Sarah moved into her dorm at the University of Colorado at Boulder on Sunday the 17th, and we did some last-minute shopping before. Even though we rented the biggest-size SUV, we hardly had any space in the car.

We stayed at an Airbnb, which was about a 20-30 minute outside of Boulder. The house was nice and comfortable in a very quiet neighborhood and about 30 minutes from Denver. We went shopping for clothes hangers, a full-size mirror, cleaning supplies, etc., at both Target and Walmart. Picked up pillows and comforter at West Elm. Move-in day was a stressful day trying to fit everything in the car. At Darley North dorm we took two trips up the elevator without any problem. The room was much bigger than we thought. We didn't have to clean the room; it was already cleaned.

Before move-in day, we went to a few restaurants to have dinners together.
Sarah started her classes on the 21st, and she had fun meeting new friends, joining a lot of clubs she's interested in, going to see a free concert on campus, hiking, and ice skating.
Before Sarah left NYC, we had a farewell party for her with all of her skate coaches and friends. We also had a belated birthday dinner for David with Dawit and Kurt at Charma Mama. We also got together with Pavan and Mica (her dance teachers for 9 years) before Sarah left. Sarah's moving out was a moment of worry and excitement for us.

After we got back to New York, the house was quiet, and her room was empty. Luckily we are very busy with work, so our lives went on, and we got back to the routine of running and lifting at Liftonics, and I am getting ready for my foot surgery. Our 32nd anniversary came on the 29th of August; we went to celebrate at Tsumo, Omakase. We went to have drinks at Bar Goto in the East Village with delicious chicken wings.
David made a new dish, "stir-fried beef with black bean sauce," and the usual oven-fried chicken wings. We seemed to eat less after Sarah left, but that's a good thing.
A long Labor Day weekend in the city had passed. The weather started to get cooler and nicer; fall is almost here, and we can't wait to go to the house upstate to enjoy the fall.
